Four years ago this morning Nighthawk Coffee Bar & Tavern opened its doors for the first time.  We wanted to take a moment to thank all those involved in making our neighborhood bar a destination spot and keeping us going through all the tough times.

First of all to our customers.  We are honored to be a part of the Albany Park community and could not have done it without the overwhelming support of the diverse, creative and loyal people that make up the coolest neighborhood in the city.

Thanks also to Alexa and everybody at North River Commission and Albany Park Chamber of Commerce, Dimitri and Hot Dog Station, Robby for our first six cocktail menus, Stephanie for years of pastries from Fannie’s Cafe, and now the folks at Phlour, and all our families and friends.

Next we have to express our gratitude to the wonderful people who have sponsored the best promotional events anywhere in all of Chicago. Chef Aleks Glass and now Nick for our award winning Pop Up Restaurant series, Bill and Maureen for the IT and poster work, Mike and Mike for Misfit and Film Noir movie nights, Patty and Chris for Bob Ross nights, George and the incomparable Paige for End of the Night Comedy, Mike and Heather from Hayward Blue Grass Band, and Ali and Lauren at Second Story.

Finally, we would never be able to even open our doors without our amazing staff. We have welcomed every one of them into our family and are grateful for every one! Our opening barista extraordinaire Neil, and baristas Joel, Amanda, Rachel, Ale, Chris and Natalie. Bartenders Sean, Jenny, Ana, Aleks, Arwen, Chris, and Emily. And our current baristas Kate and Laura and bartenders Sanita, Kayla, Sydney and Allison. And of course Danny and Nathan who have been with us since day one!

Exciting things are coming soon! We will be posting a new to-go cocktail list this Friday, July 31 for pick up August 14th. Stay tuned for some very exciting changes around here — we are building an outdoor patio and will be doing our best to make Nighthawk a welcoming and safe place for everyone during these very strange and trying times.
